The new year is a good time to make resolutions for getting yourself in good shape physically. It's also a good time to get your Chevy Silverado or Chevy Equinox in good shape mechanically. That's why we encourage you to make some New Year's resolutions to give your Chevy car, truck or SUV the regular maintenance it needs to run reliably and perform well. You might also want to think about using your tax refund to get a better car. Here are some ways to make the most of the new year at Countryside Chevrolet in Franklin, NC.
New Year's Resolution #1: Let us take good care of your tires
The tires on your Chevrolet are the only points of contact between your family and the road. That's why it's important to keep them in good shape. We recommend giving your tires a regular rotation every time you get an oil change. By repositioning all four tires on your car, you'll help your Chevy's tires to wear more evenly and have a longer life expectancy. We can also check the tire pressure on all four wheels as well as the spare to help you drive more safely.
New Year's Resolution #2: Give your Chevy a regular oil change
Any car can run into a tiny blizzard of unwanted invaders like dirt, dust and grime as you drive around Bryson City. All those microscopic particles can find their way into your engine and cause vital components to wear out prematurely. Your motor oil helps cleanse the internal parts of your engine but over time, it can start to get dirty and lose its effectiveness. With an oil change, we can flush out the old oil and fill your crankcase with fresh new lubrication. Resolve to get an oil change at the factory-recommended interval of every 5,000 miles.
New Year's Resolution #3: Have us check other important fluids
The coolant, or antifreeze, in your radiator needs to be checked periodically to make sure it isn't wearing out. By flushing out the old coolant and filling your radiator with fresh new liquid, you'll help your engine run cooler and last longer. We can also check your power steering fluid. If you hear a high-pitched squealing noise as you steer your car, you probably need more power steering fluid. We can also check your brake fluid, transmission fluid and windshield wiper fluid.
New Year's Resolution #4: Consider replacing your windshield wipers
If you notice that your windshield wipers aren’t cleaning your windshield well in your travels around Sylva or Canton, it's time to get new wiper blades or a whole new set of windshield wipers. Worn-out or damaged blades can reduce the visibility in a heavy North Carolina rainstorm. For best results, resolve to replace your windshield wipers every six months so they can properly removed rain, sleep or mud on your windshield.
New Year's Resolution #5: Let us check your battery
Batteries can last up to six years but a lot of that depends on how well they're cared for. Your battery can gradually wear out over time without giving you much of a warning. We can inspect your battery and clean off any corrosion that's built up on the connection points. We can also run a load test to see if your battery has enough power to keep starting your Chevy reliably. If you need a new battery, we have some great ones in stock and we'll be happy to install one for you.
New Year's Resolution #6: let the IRS help fund your new car
The average taxpayer in this country will get a federal refund somewhere in the $3,000 ballpark. That's enough to help make a bigger down payment on a new Chevy and lower your monthly car payments. Check our new Chevy inventory and come in for a test drive to get your new year started right at Countryside Chevrolet in Franklin, NC.
