Franklin High School Senior Vehicle Giveaway – Official Rules
NO PURCHASE NECESSARY TO ENTER OR WIN. A PURCHASE WILL NOT INCREASE YOUR CHANCES OF WINNING.
1. SPONSOR
The Franklin High School Senior Vehicle Giveaway (the "Promotion") is sponsored by Countryside Chevrolet Inc., located at 71 Cat Creek Road, Franklin, North Carolina 28734.
Franklin High School and Macon County Schools are not sponsors of the Promotion and are not responsible for administering the Promotion, selecting the winner, awarding the prize, or fulfilling any obligations of the Sponsor, except as may otherwise be agreed to in writing.
2. PROMOTION PERIOD
The Promotion begins at 9:00AM Eastern Time on 8/24/2026 and ends at 11:59PM Eastern Time on 10/26/2026.
All entries must be received before the end of the Promotion Period to be eligible.
The winner will be selected following the close of the Promotion Period and announced live at halftime of Franklin High School's final home football game of the 2026-2027 school year, currently scheduled for 10/30/2026, subject to change.
3. ELIGIBILITY
The Promotion is open only to students who:
1. Are currently enrolled as a senior at Franklin High School;
2. Are expected to graduate from Franklin High School during the 2026-2027 school year; and
3. Meet all other eligibility requirements contained in these Official Rules.
There is no minimum age requirement to enter.
Sponsor reserves the right to verify eligibility at any time.
4. NO PURCHASE NECESSARY
NO PURCHASE NECESSARY TO ENTER OR WIN. A PURCHASE WILL NOT INCREASE YOUR CHANCES OF WINNING.
There is no cost to register for or participate in the Promotion.
Purchasing a vehicle, servicing a vehicle, visiting the dealership, or otherwise doing business with Sponsor is not required to enter or win.
5. HOW TO ENTER
During the Promotion Period, eligible students may enter by completing the official online entry form accessed through the Promotion QR code or by completing an official paper entry form provided through Franklin High School or Sponsor.
The online entry form may require the entrant to select their name from the approved Franklin High School senior roster and provide information necessary to administer the Promotion and verify eligibility, including:
● Student name;
● Franklin High School student identification number;
● Franklin High School email address;
● Telephone number;
● Date of birth; and
● Any other information reasonably necessary to verify eligibility or contact the potential winner.
Each eligible student may submit one (1) entry only.
If an eligible student's name does not appear on the online entry form, the student may request and complete a paper entry form.
Multiple entries submitted by the same person, duplicate entries, fraudulent entries, or entries containing false, incomplete, or misleading information may be disqualified.
Sponsor is not responsible for lost, late, incomplete, inaccurate, illegible, misdirected, or technically deficient entries or for technical failures that prevent an entry from being received.
6. RANDOM DRAWING
One (1) potential Grand Prize winner will be selected by a random drawing from all eligible entries received during the Promotion Period.
The drawing will be conducted by Sponsor or an independent person designated by Sponsor on or about 10/30/2026.
The odds of winning depend upon the total number of eligible entries received.
Number of prizes: One (1).
Odds of winning: One (1) in the total number of eligible entries received.
Each eligible entry will have an equal chance of being selected.
7. WINNER ANNOUNCEMENT
The potential winner will be announced live at halftime of Franklin High School's final home football game of the 2026-2027 school year.
The potential winner will also be contacted using the contact information provided on the entry form.
The winner does not have to be present to win.
If the potential winner cannot be contacted within 30 calendar days after notification, fails to satisfy the eligibility requirements, refuses the prize, or fails to provide required documentation, Sponsor may select an alternate potential winner by random drawing from the remaining eligible entries.
8. GRAND PRIZE
One (1) eligible winner will receive:
One (1) new Chevrolet vehicle.
Make: Chevrolet Model: Trax Model Year: 2026 Trim: LS Color: N/A Approximate Retail Value ("MSRP"): $24,755
To take delivery of the prize vehicle, the winner must provide a valid driver's license and proof of active vehicle insurance.
The specific vehicle and its equipment, accessories, options, color, and specifications will be identified by Sponsor in the promotional materials and/or prior to the award of the prize.
Vehicles shown in promotional materials may be for illustrative purposes only. Actual prize vehicle, model, trim, features, equipment, and color may vary.
The prize is non-transferable except as specifically permitted under the minor-winner provisions of these Official Rules.
The prize may not be exchanged for cash.
Sponsor reserves the right, in its discretion, to substitute a prize of equal or greater value if the advertised vehicle becomes unavailable or cannot be awarded for reasons beyond Sponsor's reasonable control.
9. WINNERS UNDER 18 YEARS OF AGE
If the selected winner is under eighteen (18) years of age at the time the winner is selected, the winner will have the following two options, subject to applicable law and the requirements established by Sponsor and its legal counsel:
Option 1 - Wait Until Age 18
The minor winner may elect to wait until reaching eighteen (18) years of age before taking delivery of the vehicle.
If this option is selected, Sponsor will retain possession of the vehicle until the winner reaches eighteen (18), subject to the terms and conditions established by Sponsor.
Upon reaching eighteen (18), the winner may complete the required title, registration, tax, insurance, and other documentation and take delivery of the vehicle in the winner's own name.
The winner must take delivery within 90 after reaching eighteen (18), unless otherwise agreed to in writing by Sponsor.
Option 2 - Parent or Legal Guardian Accepts the Vehicle
The minor winner may elect to have the winner's parent or legal guardian accept the vehicle on the minor winner's behalf, subject to all applicable legal, tax, title, registration, and documentation requirements.
If the parent or legal guardian accepts the vehicle as the prize recipient, the parent or legal guardian will be responsible for completing the required documents and accepting ownership of the vehicle.
Any subsequent transfer of the vehicle from the parent or legal guardian to the student will be a private transaction between the parent or legal guardian and the student and will not be the responsibility or obligation of Sponsor.
Sponsor will not be responsible for any subsequent transfer, gift, sale, title change, tax consequence, or other transaction between the parent or legal guardian and the student.
10. WINNERS 18 YEARS OF AGE OR OLDER
If the selected winner is eighteen (18) years of age or older at the time the winner is selected, the winner will not be subject to the minor-winner options described above.
Subject to satisfaction of all applicable requirements, the vehicle will be awarded and titled in the winner's name.
11. TAXES AND VEHICLE-RELATED COSTS
The winner acknowledges that the fair market value of the prize may constitute taxable income. Sponsor will provide any tax reporting documents required by applicable law.
Countryside Chevrolet intends to cover the applicable federal and state income tax liability associated with the prize, subject to the terms and limitations established by Sponsor's tax advisor and legal counsel. The Sponsor will determine the applicable tax amount and the manner in which such tax liability will be paid or reported.
If the winner elects to personally pay any applicable income taxes rather than have Sponsor cover those taxes, the Sponsor will follow the winner's election to the extent permitted by applicable law and the Sponsor's tax and legal advisors.
The winner and/or parent or legal guardian, as applicable, may be required to provide a valid taxpayer identification number or Social Security number and complete any tax documentation reasonably requested by Sponsor.
Sponsor-Paid Costs
Countryside Chevrolet will pay:
● The cost of the prize vehicle;
● Applicable dealer documentation fees;
● Initial vehicle title fee;
● Initial vehicle registration fee;
● License plate fee; and
● Applicable North Carolina Highway Use Tax;
● The applicable federal and state income tax liability associated with the prize, to the extent Sponsor agrees to cover such liability under the final tax structure approved by Sponsor's tax advisor and legal counsel.
Winner-Paid Costs
The winner will be responsible for:
● Automobile insurance after delivery;
● Future property taxes;
● Future registration renewals;
● Fuel;
● Maintenance;
● Repairs;
● Personalization or modifications; and
● Any other costs associated with ownership or operation of the vehicle after delivery.
12. TAX REPORTING
The winner acknowledges that the fair market value of the prize may constitute taxable income.
Sponsor may report the value of the prize to the Internal Revenue Service and/or other taxing authorities as required by applicable law.
Sponsor may issue the winner and/or applicable recipient an information return, including Form 1099-MISC or another form required by law.
The winner and/or applicable recipient is responsible for consulting with their own tax professional regarding the tax consequences of accepting the prize.
13. VEHICLE TITLE AND REGISTRATION
To take delivery of the prize vehicle, the winner must provide a valid driver's license and proof of active vehicle insurance.
Before delivery of the vehicle, the winner and/or the winner's parent or legal guardian, as applicable, must complete all documents reasonably required by Sponsor and/or the North Carolina Division of Motor Vehicles.
The recipient must provide all documentation required to title and register the vehicle.
The vehicle will be titled and registered in accordance with applicable North Carolina law.
Sponsor reserves the right to delay delivery of the vehicle until all applicable legal, tax, title, registration, insurance, and documentation requirements have been satisfied.
14. PROOF OF ELIGIBILITY
Before the prize is awarded, the potential winner may be required to provide:
● Government-issued identification;
● Proof of Franklin High School enrollment;
● Proof of senior status;
● Proof of expected graduation;
● Proof of age;
● Completed tax documentation;
● Documentation required for vehicle title and registration;
● Proof of insurance, if required before delivery; and
● Any other documentation reasonably requested by Sponsor.
If the winner is under eighteen (18) years of age and elects to have a parent or legal guardian accept the vehicle, the parent or legal guardian must provide documentation establishing their identity and legal authority to accept the vehicle.
15. AFFIDAVIT AND RELEASE
Before receiving the prize, the potential winner and/or parent or legal guardian, if applicable, may be required to sign and return an Affidavit of Eligibility, Acceptance of Prize, Release of Liability, tax documentation, and any other documents reasonably requested by Sponsor within 30 days of notification.
To the extent permitted by law, the winner and/or parent or legal guardian agrees to release and hold harmless Sponsor and its owners, officers, directors, employees, agents, representatives, advertising agencies, promotional agencies, and promotional partners from claims arising out of participation in the Promotion or acceptance, possession, use, or operation of the prize.
16. PUBLICITY
Except where prohibited by law, acceptance of the prize constitutes permission for Sponsor and its designees to use the winner's name, photograph, likeness, voice, hometown, school, graduation year, and statements regarding the Promotion for advertising, promotional, social media, website, public relations, and other commercial purposes without additional compensation.
If the winner is a minor, Sponsor will obtain any parent or legal guardian consent required by applicable law before using the minor's name, image, likeness, or other identifying information for promotional purposes.
17. PERSONAL INFORMATION
Information collected through the entry process will be used for purposes of administering the Promotion, verifying eligibility, contacting entrants and the potential winner, fulfilling the prize, and complying with applicable legal requirements.
Sponsor may provide entrants with an optional opportunity to receive future marketing communications from Countryside Chevrolet.
Marketing consent will not be required to enter or win the Promotion.
18. GENERAL CONDITIONS
Sponsor reserves the right to disqualify any entrant who Sponsor determines, in its reasonable discretion, has:
● Violated these Official Rules;
● Provided false or misleading information;
● Attempted to interfere with the operation of the Promotion;
● Submitted multiple entries;
● Is expelled by school during promotional period;
● Engaged in fraudulent conduct; or
● Engaged in conduct that compromises the integrity or proper administration of the Promotion.
Sponsor reserves the right to cancel, suspend, modify, or terminate the Promotion if fraud, technical failures, governmental action, changes in applicable law, or other circumstances beyond Sponsor's reasonable control impair the integrity or proper functioning of the Promotion.
Any dispute concerning the Promotion will be governed by the laws of the State of North Carolina, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, subject to applicable law.
19. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY
To the extent permitted by applicable law, Sponsor and its respective owners, officers, directors, employees, agents, representatives, affiliates, advertising agencies, promotional agencies, and partners will not be responsible or liable for:
● Technical failures;
● Computer, telephone, network, or internet malfunctions;
● Lost, delayed, incomplete, inaccurate, or misdirected entries;
● Unauthorized intervention in the Promotion;
● Any injury, loss, or damage resulting from participation in the Promotion; or
● Any injury, loss, damage, or expense arising from acceptance, possession, use, or operation of the prize.
Nothing in these Official Rules is intended to limit any rights or remedies that cannot legally be limited or waived.
